Prior to the election, John Murtha was the champion of the cut&run crowd. He was lauded by the MSM and was never questioned or challenged. Murtha, along with Sheehan, were the darlings of the 6 o'clock news.
Today, it's a different story.
We are now hearing some rumblings about how cut&run might not be such a good idea.
Videos and sound bites of Murtha/ABSCAM, which were nowhere to be found PE (prior election) are all over the media. Could it be that NOW Murtha is no longer "needed" and he's quietly being "nudged" aside?
I hope that John McCain is watching and taking notes.
One day media darling, next day........................................media dupe.

2007 = Pullout. Ok, then what?
Carl Levin and Joe Biden, the incoming chairmen of the armed services and foreign affairs committees, said yesterday that the withdrawal of American forces from Iraq is their first priority. Harry Reid followed suit by saying that redeployment "should start in the next few months" Let's not forget, just for giggles, that these are the same folks along with Clinton, Edwards, Kerry, and Daschel who voted for the war after being privy to the exact same intelligence that Bush had about Iraq.
Fine, let's pull out and forget the consequences of what will happen in Iraq.
I am told that when the Iraqis see us starting to leave, they will get their act together and secure their own country. Has anyone considered that maybe our pullout will super-energize all the bad guys and the Sunnis, Kurds and Shiias will have no choice but to harden their positions and as they said in The Godfather "go to the mattresses"?
I think the Democrats are right. Americans have no stomach for conflict anymore and they want out of Iraq and could care less about the consequences.
So what if 180,000 Iraqis die in a full blown civil war. So what if hundreds of thousands of Vietnamese that sided with the US, died when we pulled out of Viet-Nam. Do American give a shit about all those people? Hell no!
For years, Democrats and the lapdog press have been trying to paint Iraq as another Viet-Nam. It's not.
The Vietnamese of yesterday are not the Muslims of today. The Muslims leaders of today have declared war on the West. They advocate the inhalation of Israel and death to every Jew. The Muslims of today are openly creating nuclear weapons. The Muslims of today have invaded Europe and are defiantly rioting in European capitals. Ahmadinejad and Bin-Laden are not Ho-Chi-Mihn.
So, let's just sit back, pull out of Iraq, and hope that Muslims, after seeing our resolve, will stop that crazy idea of destroying the West.

A couple of thoughts.
First some fun:
Have any Republicans talked about leaving the US for another country?
Has anyone heard the words Diebold Corporation today? No, I didn't think so.
I'm offering dinner for 2 anywhere in the world, including airfare, if anyone hears Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson use the words disenfranchise or voter fraud this week.
Now some serious stuff:
Be prepared for a whole new look at Globalism with Congress, prodded by unions, being a lot more involved in trade policy.
Be prepared for a blizzard of subpoenas hitting the White House, the Pentagon, and the CIA as Congress begins investigating everything military as payback to the loonie left.
Be prepared for a hit on Wall Street as Congress will accelerate even more regulations on business and industry.
Be prepared for Wall Street to also take a hit as businesses will be adversely affected by a rise in wages due to an increase in minimum wage.
Don't expect any reforms on Social Security, immigration, or taxes. Democrats are the party of GOVERNMENT, BIG GOVERNMENT.
Look forward to several months of Republican finger pointing and bickering over this election loss.
Don't buy the notion of "tempered Democrats" This election will put the Liberal Bull Dinosaurs in Committee Chairs where they will wield tremendous power and won't be afraid to use it. Also, don't buy into the notion that the newly elected Democrats won't be Liberal. Once the established Liberal Bull Dinosaurs show them the "ropes" the newbies will fall right in line.

NOVEMBER 8
Obviously, there is the possibility that the Congress will be controled by the LibDems come November 8.
Here is a preview of what could happen:
"Certainly the conduct of the war" in Iraq would be the subject of hearings, if not a full-fledged House investigation, Pelosi said.
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (Calif.) said in an interview last week that a Democratic House would launch a series of investigations of the Bush administration, beginning with the White House's first-term energy task force and probably including the use of intelligence in the run-up to the invasion of Iraq.
Pelosi also vowed "to use the power to investigate" the administration on multiple fronts, starting with the task force convened in secret by Vice President Cheney to devise the administration's energy policy.
Pelosi denied Republican allegations that a Democratic House would move quickly to impeach President Bush. But, she said of the planned investigations, "You never know where it leads to."
Washington, DC, August 22, 2006 — Congressman Tom Lantos (D-San Mateo-San Francisco) today called upon the Inspector General of the Department of Justice to investigate secret warrantless wiretapping searches carried out by the National Security Agency.
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi has been an outspoken critic of President Bush's tax cut plan.
"Congressman Jack Murtha has a plan, and I quote, 'that the forces involved (in Iraq) are redeployed at the earliest practicable date.' That is not cut and run, that is at the earliest practicable date, and I am proud to support the Murtha plan. The Murtha plan has been endorsed by more than 100 of my House Democratic colleagues." Pelosi Speech at Take Back America 2006 Conference.
And that's just a taste.
Thank you Republican Party!
