Those pesky little tax cuts.

Data released from the Congressional Budget Office once again revealed that the tax cuts, especially cuts to capital gains, are flooding the National coffers.
The CBO originally estimated that the Capital Gains cut from 20% to 15% would cost the Treasury $5.4 BILLION.
Actual revenues from these cuts exceeded expectations by 68% and provided a $133 BILLION bonaza for the feds. The original forecast for 2006 was for $57 Billion in revenue, but actual receipts were $110 Billion.

Please keep this in mind when you hear our Democrat friends talking about "tax cuts for the rich"

A Terminator of a proposal.

On a continuing march to total Republican Party irrelevancy, Republican Gov. Arnold has proposed a sweeping change in Kalifornia health care.

"Schwarzenegger would tax doctors 2% of their gross revenue and place a 4% tax on hospitals"

Obviously the Governor has ignored the fact that there is a tremendous doctor shortage in Kalifornia and just last year 6 ERs in the L.A. area alone had to close because they were losing money.

Has the Governor thought about the number of folks that will drop their existing insurance and go with the Kalifornia program? Has the Governor though about deregulating the existing program? Probably not!
This proposal will not make Kalifornia more attractive to doctors, will not enhance hospital's bottom lines, will create more government red-tape, and will not make Kalifornia more attractive to business. BRILLIANT!

Ms. Pelosi

"We will not just break through a glass ceiling, we will break through a marble ceiling," she said. "In more than 200 years of history, there was an established pecking order -- and I cut in line." After calling herself "the most powerful woman in America," Mrs. Pelosi flexed her right muscle like a weight lifter to much applause at an event yesterday titled a "women's tea." "All right, let's hear it for the power," she screamed as the jubilant applause continued.

While I hear a lot of chatter about how this Democrat is going to fall on her face, I have a different vision.
There is no doubt in my mind that this Congress will not let go of Bush/Cheney/Iraq. This crew "cut their teeth" with Watergate (an event, that in my opinion, pales to the actions of Mr. Sandy Berger) and now have an opportunity to scalp another battered Republican President. Bush by his own doing, has placed himself "on the ropes" and this bunch will knock him out.
I know that this is a reach, but I see Ms. Pelosi and her new power-minions investigating every square inch of Bush/Cheney/Iraq. I also see them uncovering/creating very damaging evidence that could lead to a Bush/Cheney resignation.
Ms. Pelosi wouldn't just bust through a marble ceiling, but the oak doors of the Oval Office.

While the Republicans are sleeping.................

The Democrat Party is working hard on that bi-partisan stuff. YEAH RIGHT!
http://apnews.myway.com/article/20070101/D8MCPP500.html

Our AWOL President responded with this:
"Together, we have a chance to serve the American people by solving the complex problems that many don't expect us to tackle, let alone solve, in the partisan environment of today's Washington. To do that, however, we can't play politics as usual. Democrats will control the House and Senate, and therefore we share the responsibility for what we achieve."

Oh, and he followed with this:
"By balancing the budget through pro-growth economic policies and spending restraint, we are better positioned to tackle the longer term fiscal challenge facing our country: reforming entitlements--Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid--so future generations can benefit from these vital programs without bankrupting our country."
Did he say "spending restraints?
