BEAM ME UP SCOTTY!

We have all now heard about the Scott McClellan book, but here is something rather........cute.

In a press briefing in March, 2004, when asked about the tell-all, Bush bashing book by Richard Clarke, McClellan said:

"Well, why, all of a sudden, if he (Richard Clarke) had all these grave concerns, did he not raise these sooner? This is one-and-a-half years after he left the administration. And now, all of a sudden, he’s raising these grave concerns that he claims he had. And I think you have to look at some of the facts. One, he is bringing this up in the heat of a presidential campaign. He has written a book and he certainly wants to go out there and promote that book"

Loyalty isn't what it used to be.

Mr. Black let me introduce you to Mr. Kettle.

Today oil neared the $130 a barrel mark.
In the US, we haven't built a refinery in 30 years and the ones that exist are running at 100% capacity.
Today it is impossible to drill for oil ANYWHERE in the continental US.

IN THE FACE OF ALL THIS, WHAT DO OUR BRILLIANT CONGRESSMEN DO?

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The House of Representatives overwhelmingly approved legislation on Tuesday allowing the Justice Department to sue OPEC members for limiting oil supplies and working together to set crude prices. The bill would subject OPEC oil producers, including Saudi Arabia, Iran and Venezuela, to the same antitrust laws that U.S. companies must follow. The measure passed in a 324-84 vote. The legislation also creates a Justice Department task force to aggressively investigate gasoline price gouging and energy market manipulation. "This bill guarantees that oil prices will reflect supply and demand economic rules, instead of wildly speculative and perhaps illegal activities," said Democratic Rep. Steve Kagen of Wisconsin, who sponsored the legislation.

Shit! I'd be laughing too!

You want clarity? I'll give ya clarity!

Today in Billings, Montana, the BIG O said:
"I've made it clear for years that the threat from Iran is grave."

Yesterday while speaking in Portland, Oregon, the BIG O said:
"They (Iran) don't pose a serious threat to us."

YO DOG! WHAT THE F*CK!

A THOUGHT

A lot has been tossed around about Bush's visit to Saudi Arabia. Most have commented that Bush went there with hat in hand begging for more oil production.
I DON'T BELIEVE THAT FOR A SECOND!
My Take: I think Bush went there to get the Saudis in the loop about Bush's plans to bomb/attack Iran in the next couple of months.
Whether you like or hate Bush, one has to agree that the guy doesn't like unfinished business, and leaving a nuclear Iran for the next guy, or gal..............................is certainly unfinished business.
That's my take.

TOO FUNNY!
The White House this morning stridently rejected a report from the Jerusalem Post today that President Bush plans to attack Iran before he leaves office next January.

I'm still sticking with my take.

Who was the President talking about??

Georgy W grew a pair, and pissed off a bunch of LibDems yesterday when he said:

"Some seem to believe that we should negotiate with the terrorists and radical, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along. We have heard this foolish delusion before. As Nazi tanks crossed into Poland in 1939, an American senator declared: 'Lord, if I could only have talked to Hitler, all this might have been avoided.' We have an obligation to call this what it is — the false comfort of appeasement, which has been repeatedly discredited by history."

It was hilarious to see all the Lefties yapping like scalded dogs. Must have hit a nerve!

"When you have to deal with a beast you have to treat him as a beast. It is most regrettable but nevertheless true."

IMAGINE THAT!

Democrat wins Mississippi special election

Democrats picked up a northern Mississippi House seat in one of the most conservative-minded districts in the country Tuesday night -- an upset that will reverberate darkly through a House Republican caucus already reeling from losses in special elections in Illinois and Louisiana.

With all precincts reporting, the Democratic nominee, Prentiss County Chancery Clerk Travis Childers, defeated Republican Greg Davis, 54 to 46 percent. Childers was able to expand his three-point margin of victory from the race's first round of balloting last month -- even as he faced an onslaught of Republican attacks.

The victory marks the Democrats’ third straight special election pickup in three months. It will be a serious blow to the Republican Party’s already-flagging morale and will surely prompt a new round of finger-pointing among the already fractured GOP caucus.

"This loss is going to prompt serious introspection by our conference to figure out what went wrong and how to fix it," said a GOP leadership aide. "We have time to do that, and we will if we learn our lessons leading into November. But the next couple of days are not going to be pretty."

Republican lose an election in 2008. Who would have thunk!

Today, I left the Republican Party.

For 34 years I have been a member of the Republican Party.
For 34 years I have supported the Republican Party with money and votes.
That comes to an end today when I switch to INDEPENDENT.
If the Republican Party wants to tackle Federal spending, illegal immigration, energy independence, and tax reform, in a way that is acceptable to me, then I will reconsider my party affiliation.
I know that I am only one person, but if more Republicans would turn their backs on the party that has left them, and let the Republican leadership know about it, maybe they will pay attention.
